One of the most advanced forms of ad fraud is VPN clickers. These are bots or programs that use VPNs to fake each click as coming from a new user, IP address, or country.
How they work:
- Every click is followed by a new IP rotation.
- Browser data (user-agent) is spoofed.
- They appear like real users.
- Use proxy chains and mobile headers.
- Can run on loops, massively and repeatedly.
Why it’s dangerous:
- Google Ads often doesn’t detect this as fraud.
- You pay for every “unique” click.
- Your conversions drop while costs rise.
- Your data becomes unreliable.
How to fight it:
- Use AntiClick, which monitors full behavioral patterns, not just IPs.
- Watch for low-interaction sessions from unexpected countries.
- Auto-block IPs even if they change frequently.
