In ad analytics, we often distinguish between warm and cold clicks—based on user intent.
- Warm click: the user is already familiar with your brand or is actively searching.
- Cold click: accidental, unqualified—or generated by bots or click farms.
Signs of a warm click:
- long session, multiple pages viewed;
- views on “Pricing”, “Contact”, or “Cart” pages;
- interaction with forms or CTA;
- return visits.
Signs of cold or fraudulent clicks:
- short session, single page view;
- no interaction, no scroll;
- VPN or proxy used;
- odd geo or time patterns.
The problem:
Fraudulent clicks mimic real behavior but don’t convert. This distorts analytics and leads to wasted spend.
What to do:
- Segment traffic by intent level.
- Analyze post-click behavior.
- Use AntiClick to detect and filter cold/fake sessions.
- Focus on converting traffic.
